Well, we are half way getting back to the same number of sign ups we had before the site crashed. The previous post listing the sign up count proved quite popular so I thought I'd start it again. Chip in and have your say.

Sign ups have slowed slightly, so spread the word to your team mates. Everyone signed up helps the league in its battle to gain sponsorship.

Yes indeed! And one from many other clubs. Spread the word and get on the leader board ;-) . Some clubs still to get going. The sign ups have slowed this last week but are still trickling in. So the message is get your club members to sign up. The more that do the better the league stands in terms of sponsorship etc.

Andrew, Sorry I missed your post.

There are some clubs that are not yet represented here but the word is getting about. While I was away I didn't have the time to update this list. I shall do so as soon as I get a few minutes. I will also place a link on the site that will give a list of all registered members and their clubs. Which may be of use to some people.

On the plus side we have today reached our first "ton" with 101 registered members.

With the new season here at last I thought, I'd revive this topic in an effort to get more sign ups on the site.

I considered it. Rather than "shame" them into registering I was hoping to see new registrations from the clubs in question. One club has already signed up.

I had it in mind to send an email to the clubs in question first as a general prompt. I also was going to suggest to the committee that each club has a nominated representative on the site responsible for passing on info and relevant posts that appear here. Maybe from next year. There are still a large number of clubs with only one or two registered members.

The site seems to becoming a valuable league resource as such I believe it can achieve a great deal if it is representative of all clubs.

The other option open to us is to restrict certain areas of the site that only registered or members with certain privileges can access. That option may appear to be forcing people to join. A lot of people just pass by and look at the results and a few match reports so see no need to register. Its hard to know which way to go at present.

I think I suggested last year that it should be a condition of league membership that every club has at least one member registered on the website.
That maybe why I still have it in mind to suggest it. It makes sense at least to me.
I'm not a great fan of restricted access areas, though. I'm an inveterate browser of other club and league websites and there's nothing more frustrating than being denied entry to the potentially most interesting bits!
Except in this case all you would have to do would be to register with the site. About 2 minutes of your time. The only conditions with registration are that you provide your real name and a valid email. We have only imposed these to avoid potential spam harvesting and the like, it also makes people more wary of posting inflammatory or derisory comments.

That list adds up to 14 clubs with two or more members of the site. Are there clubs that don't have any members? My point is that there's a huge amount of valuable debate going on around the site, much of which will no doubt be reflected in the agenda at the next AGM. I don't want proposals that might be put forward after receiving a full airing here getting scuppered on a vote by those clubs who have remained unaware that debate was even taking place. Surely every club has someone with email and internet access?

Should we not be told who these three are? After all, when there was so much valuable debate on the site last year, some of which led to policies being formulated at the AGM, it's surely important for us all to be aware that three clubs are not party to any of these discussions. If it turns out we play them, we may be able to 'convert' them over a pint!
