A reminder to all. Please do not use expletives of any kind when posting here, even if one or two letters are replaced with non alpha-numeric. We have many many young cricketers and colts reading these boards. As well as Ethnic and religous groups who find swearing offensive.
Jonesy, I know you intend no offence so I've edited your post accordingly.

Playing at Woodford Wells one of our batsmen creamed one back at the bowler, a certain boundary, except it hit him smack in the middle of the forehead and looped up to be caught by mid-on. He didn't even have the decency to fall over, but carried on bowling looking like someone had taped a target on to his head . Dedication in the extreme. :-O

Seem to remember a young spinner coming on against our 2nd XI over at the Valley, playing for Nazeing Common, and taking 3 wickets for 0 runs I believe to finish us off?
And at the return fixture, I think at one point he had very similar figures, maybe 3 wickets for 1 run? One for the future that guy, think his name is potter as well as it goes!!!

We've had a lot of fun this year and are looking forward to next year. Some of the funnier moments:
Sam Davidson, whilst taking a quick single, was shot by a sniper from a nearby oak tree! He went down like a sack of spuds and had to be carried off. Turns out it was an achilles problem.
Pipkin had a chunk shaved out of the back of his head at Thaxted for mis fielding on many occasions
Dave Newsome umpiring signalled a 4 and promptly gave the ball as a wide!
Dave Ridley umpiring turned an LBW down because it pitched outside off stump!
Dave Arnold, fielding on the long off boundary, was knocked off his feet when trying to catch a ball. He missed it and it hit him square on the forehead. . . fabulous :-D
That's a snapshot of our season!
Looking forward to playing your 2's next week Sturds! We have a very weak side 8-)

Hi Paul,
Thanks for this. I genuinely mean no offence, I was giggling about Sam being shot and didn't think! ;-)

Inskip caught crying on tour because he couldn't keep up with the pace and didn't feel very well. Apparently, he wanted his mummy. No, he's not a youngster, he's nearly 21 years old! lol

Dave Porter aka Skunky (due to his hair, not the smell!) to his teammates is the lad you're thinking of. We played a friendly yesterday and he took 4 for 7 off three overs, including a triple wicket maiden, don't know why I don't bring him on earlier really!! Could be interesting today though, as we're playing against his Sunday side, I'll let you know if I can work him out!!!! Sturds

Seb. Didn't get to face Skunky yesterday, as we won relatively comfortably. Skunkmeister did pick up one of the 2 wickets to fall, unfortunately for him it wasn't another of our youngsters, as Dan "Sleepy" Reece managed his third ton in consecutive weeks, two in the League and one in yesterdays friendly. At this rate I may not be required next season, see you when we apply to get a 2nd XI in the HECL, cheers. Sturds
