Essexs' chances?

With the majority of people on this website following Essex(i hope anyway), just wondered if people thought they would go back up to Div 1 this year. If Tudor stays fit and, when the weather gets warmer and the pitches dry out, Kaneria works his magic, they could have enough firepower to go up. I don't think the batting is a problem with a possible top 7 of Cook, Jefferson, A.Flower, G.Flower, Irani, Bopara/Pettini and Foster and with Middlebrook, Adams, Napier, Tudor, Gough, Palladino and Kaneria fighting it out for the bowling slots, it should make for an interesting season.

Looks like you were right to hold back on Essex's chances, seems they can't find a bowler from anywhere!! Playing two 17 year olds in the last 2 Championship matches is a bit odd when Cowan and Palladino are languishing in the Scooby's, i don't think Chambers even opens the bowling for his club!! Still, with Steyn leaving and Kaneria back in just as the wickets start to dry, who knows. Mind you, if he thought he bowled alot of overs in India and the West Indies, just wait until he has to carry our attack from one end all day!! :-O
