Slider. Please understand that at present neither the league committee nor I can post anything that may compromise the findings of the disciplinary meeting to be held shortly. However I understand your concerns. I can only answer by saying..
I have posted the current state of play on the front page of the site. The committee has taken the view that the matter is serious and acted preemptively in a way that I hope demonstrates this.
The League committee has to allow all parties involved to present their case. They will be heard at the forth coming meeting.
The committee will arrive at a judgment on both the individuals involved and the clubs. We would ask that any comment is reserved until that judgment is published.
As far as laying blame on the captain or the protagonists involved. I for one tried to point in general terms to the laws of cricket and the preamble that is attached to it specifically to make people aware that the league committee use the directives therein to arrive at a just conclusion. It follows that the committee are fully aware of the responsibility of the Captain.
To conclude, the committee are aware of how disturbing the events of last week may have been. All that is now asked is that the process is allowed to continue without prejudice. Please allow the league a chance to fairly investigate and deal with this matter.
The league committee would also like to clarify that all decisions arrived at regarding disciplinary meetings will be published here for all to see and will be freely open to debate unless there are strong legal obligations not to do so.
